The Pillars of Opposites

While we may believe in guardian angels, how many of us also believe in a dark angel? Not to say that the dark angel is evil or bad, just that duality plays a role in almost everything we do in this world we live in. The old saying, "there are two sides to everything," may have more meaning than previously thought.

Perhaps by understanding, and thinking over the following examples of the Opposites of Choices in our life everyday life - We may say; "Yes or no, I want or do not want, I will go or I will not go, take this or do not take this" - we realize how easy it is to say yes or no, and how this choice is integrated within ourselves. Thinking on this, we may wonder what it is that influences our decisions, and sometimes why we say things we did not mean to say, or do not say things we wanted to say.

We hear many stories about guardian angels and how they protected us, or guided us in times of great stress or need. During times like this, when someone describes how an angel protected them or guided them, we never hear that a good angel or a bad angel was involved.

LET'S make a note, that we are NOT attempting to associate this talk with any stories about angels mentioned in any religious books or teachings, as this is not what we are talking about on these pages, and any attempt to do so would only lead to confusion and cause any unbalanced thinking to become more unbalanced.

Other examples of acceptance of duality of choices can be seen in animated cartoons and ritual holidays. Most observances of special days of celebration, while once may have been connected to religion, have very little to do with real spirituality, as, if it was in some way connected to a spiritual force, it would still be connected to a spiritual force and not be an opportunity to drink and party in uncontrolled behaviors, as in today's society.

The are also many songs connected to wayward angels, which in no way is connected to any religious teachings. Most of these kinds of songs reference hurt feelings and everyday conditions in our lives. This kind of song only conjures up personal suffering and any connection to religious angels is not intended. Some examples of songs may be: My Fallen Angel, Honky Tonk Angel, My Special Angel, Teen Angel, Beautiful Angel, or Devil in Disguise.

WE are now beginning to notice how closely we are connected to the world of angels, and the use and acceptance of the words and thoughts about them surrounding our everyday life.

Perhaps now is a good time to take a look at another view of our actions in everyday life and the decisions we make. We could say, we do have a guardian angel and also an initiating angel around us. Another way of looking at this may be, we have a white angel and a dark angel that walks with us. Being aware of the dark angel might help us, in that the white angel watches over and protects us, while the dark angel initiates us- for, if we never did any wrong we would never experience and turn towards the higher.

On another level of thinking, we could say, one that has not fallen cannot rise above, as there would be no relating experience to rise above, and they would always be in danger of falling, as never yet having experienced a fall.

In closing, let's determine if this could be so. WE have a guiding angel and a dark angel, and the dark angel being the initiator that causes us to turn towards the guardian angel for guidance. For, if we never realized we made mistakes, there would never be any reason to make changes in our life. It is experience that guides us and keeps us on the path to realization and wisdom.
