TIME AND CHANGE
Time being a point in which to determine and focus an event - past, present, or future.
With this in mind, we have a method to mark our progress, and understand the way, and sometimes why we do things. Suppose we plant vegetable seeds in the ground. Certainly they have not grown to fullness the next day as we might like, especially some very delicious vegetables. So let's use time on this one. First, we think about, and see the results in our mind. Then we obtain the seeds, we plant the seeds, and we water the seeds. After this process, we watch over our vegetable plant, caring and thinking of the results when the vegetables are full grown, and how we may benefit from our work of planting, and taking care of the plant as it matured.
The same as changes in our life: We think about what we want, focus and act. Depending on how well we plan and focus, has direct results on the benefits we receive from our work. Once we start to bring about the desired results, just like planting a seed, we must watch over, water, clear the weeds, and take care of our plant for a length of time so we may receive the results of our patience and labor.
The seasons being divided into 4 parts- Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring- gives an idea of what we can expect in our own development. Changes we make in our life, begins showing results in several months. After 6 months, we have excellent results, and after a 12 months, we know we can repeat this process over and over, as we have now benefited from our work, and the next plantings are easier and easier.
Resting too soon after planting may result in the plant rotting and our work being wasted. Patience and time bring about the results from our work. What we start today, we need to take our time and wait for the results. Some animals hibernate and the same with us. We pass time as we wait for our results. Just like showing affection to someone we care for. We show our affection, which could be sending flowers or gifts, and it is done. The recipient has received our gift of affection and then we wait. Soon they contact us and tell us how much they enjoyed our gift. They had time to think about it and realized our thoughts toward them. Had we contacted them everyday, in an attempt to force our feelings toward them, they would not have time to think about the gift or sender, and just become irritated by our constant presence. The same as if we over water our plant, our dreams die away.
Allowing time for our actions is an important part in any progress we expect in life and in our meditations. To act too soon is maybe just like destroying everything we planned for. Not keeping focused on our results and turning towards another interest has the same result as over watering our plant, or leaving it unattended.
Desiring to make changes in our life could be, sometimes, like planting in hard or rocky ground. We work a little at a time with our focus in mind, patiently continue planting and clearing the ground, and eventually our work and patience shows results. Results that could not be obtained in a day, or a week, have now begun showing and well worth the effort.
We need only to continue our watering and taking care of our plant. The hard work of making the soil right to grow our vegetables is now excellent and very fertile for whatever we want to plant.
Planting in bad ground is the same as knowing our future. We know from our past planting in bad ground, failure of good plants to grow will be the result.
Life is the same way- if we keep plant in bad ground, we can never get the results we want, but "when we take the time," and clean up the soil, and remove the rocks and obstacles, the soil becomes our friend and can grow anything we want to plant.
